Promoting Investment Cooperation with the Philippines Across Multiple Sectors
During a reception on the morning of June 29 for His Excellency Francis Noel R. Fernandez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to Vietnam, Standing Vice Chairman of the Municipal People's Committee Ho Ky Minh highly appreciated the role of the Philippines in ASEAN. At the same time, he expressed his hope that the Ambassador would continue to connect Philippine localities and businesses to explore investment and business opportunities in Da Nang.
Da Nang expects to attract high-quality human resources from the Philippines to serve the fields of logistics, high technology, the Free Trade Zone, and the International Financial Center. The city also aims to expand cooperation in marine economic development and strengthen relations with Philippine localities.
Ambassador Francis Noel R. Fernandez also proposed enhancing cooperation in tourism, English teacher training, high-quality human resource development, and marine economic development. He affirmed that the Philippines is ready to share its experience and support Da Nang in building an International Financial Center, leveraging the country's strengths in finance and accounting.

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyễn Đình Vĩnh expressed his hope that ICCROM would support the city in heritage management, preservation, human resource training, and the restoration of monuments at Mỹ Sơn.</span></p>

<p style="text-align:justify; margin-bottom:11px;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">Within the framework of the Workshop "Danang FTZ and Investment Connection 2026" on June 13, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng affirmed that the Danang Free Trade Zone is a new growth driver and a gateway connecting the city with global production, trade, and logistics chains. The city will continue to improve strategic infrastructure, step up administrative reform, apply science and technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and study the expansion of the FTZ space to the South.</span></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">At a meeting with the experts of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on June 10, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi affirmed that the project to preserve and restore the E-F tower groups at the Mỹ Sơn World Cultural Heritage site is a symbol of the friendly cooperative relationship and strategic partnership between Vietnam and India. The city will continue to create favorable conditions for the project to be implemented effectively and wishes to expand cooperation with Indian partners in heritage preservation, scientific research, human resource training, and sustainable tourism development.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">The project is implemented on the basis of cooperation agreements between the governments of the two countries, with a total funding support from the Government of India of about 115 billion VND. After one year of implementation, the project has completed about 20% of the workload.</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">The showdown between the German team and the Macau (China) team was considered an exciting contest between two distinct styles of fireworks. Not only leaving an artistic impression, DIFF 2026 continues to serve as a driving force for the growth of tourism in Danang.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">According to statistics, after three nights of competition, accommodation facilities in the city have served more than 326,000 guests, an increase of 36.7% compared to the same period in 2025. Among them, international visitors reached over 136,000, an increase of 33.7%; domestic visitors reached nearly 190,000, an increase of 38.9%.</p>

The city is committed to continuing to accompany and closely coordinate with AFD and relevant agencies to promptly address difficulties and obstacles, ensuring that the project is implemented on schedule, achieves quality standards, and maximizes investment efficiency.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">This is an important project for protecting the coastline, responding to climate change, ensuring the safety of residents, tourists, and coastal infrastructure, and contributing to the sustainable development of the area. With a total investment of 42 million euros for the 2019-2026 phase, the project focuses on constructing a submerged breakwater system, groynes, and beach nourishment along more than 3.3 km of Hội An's coastline. To date, the main contracting packages have resumed after being temporarily halted due to weather conditions. The project owner aims to complete the construction work before the storm season in 2026.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">At the seminar titled "VIFC-DN: Building Institutions - Shaping Next-Generation Capital Flows" on the morning of June 30, Le Minh Nghia, Chairman of the Vietnam Financial Consultants Association (VFCA), emphasized that VIFC-DN is not only a key strategic project for Da Nang but also a crucial link in the nation’s overall development goals. An International Financial Center (IFC) and a free trade zone are vital tools for Da Nang to accelerate the attraction of indirect investment, international investment funds, carbon credit markets, and modern financial products. For Da Nang, the Government has set a target for the city to strive for a GRDP growth rate of 11% or higher in 2026.</p>
