DIFF 2026's 04th Night: Germany and Macau (China) excel with a creative performance  

DIFF 2026's fourth night of competition continued to affirm its appeal with the contest between two representatives from Europe and Asia, namely Steffes-Ollig Feuerwerke GmbH & Co. KG (Germany) and Apple Pyrotechnics Co., Ltd (Macau, China).

The showdown between the German team and the Macau (China) team was considered an exciting contest between two distinct styles of fireworks. Not only leaving an artistic impression, DIFF 2026 continues to serve as a driving force for the growth of tourism in Danang.

According to statistics, after three nights of competition, accommodation facilities in the city have served more than 326,000 guests, an increase of 36.7% compared to the same period in 2025. Among them, international visitors reached over 136,000, an increase of 33.7%; domestic visitors reached nearly 190,000, an increase of 38.9%.

Promoting Comprehensive Cooperation with Genoa City (Italy) in Marine Economy and Education

On June 16 (local time), a delegation from Danang City led by Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyễn Đình Vĩnh worked with the Mayor of Genoa City (Italy), Silvia Salis, to promote cooperation in the fields of marine economy, logistics, education, urban planning, and digital transformation. The two sides agreed to develop specific action programs to effectively implement the signed cooperation agreements.

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyễn Đình Vĩnh requested Genoa City to share its experiences in seaport development, logistics, land reclamation technology, and marine sports, while also promoting cooperation between the University of Genoa and the University of Danang in training and scientific research.

Mayor Silvia Salis proposed strengthening digital transformation, cultural and sports exchanges, and business connectivity between the two localities. Rector of the University of Genoa Federico Delfino affirmed that the university would step up training cooperation in the fields of maritime, circular economy, and green economy.

On the same day, the delegation attended the Genoa - Danang Conference: The Journey from Italy to Central Vietnam. The conference contributed to promoting cooperation in investment, tourism, education, and innovation based on the Memorandum of Understanding establishing friendly relations and cooperation between Da Nang and Genoa signed in January 2025.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Nguyễn Phương Anh proposed developing cooperative relations based on three pillars: marine economy - logistics - smart cities; tourism - culture; and education, research, and innovation. Da Nang City proposed boosting cultural exchanges, developing two-way tourism, and cooperating in high-quality human resource training.

Danang aims to apply a high-quality tourism model and sustainable development from Monaco and Spain

Within the framework of the official business trip to Monaco and the Kingdom of Spain, the Danang City delegation, led by Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyễn Đình Vĩnh, worked with numerous leading agencies and organizations to exchange experiences in developing high-quality tourism, destination management, and the sports industry; simultaneously promoting foreign affairs activities, cultural and artistic exchanges, and strengthening cooperation between Da Nang and localities and international partners.

In Monaco, the delegation studied the model of high-end tourism development associated with resource conservation, sustainable destination management, and enhancing the visitor experience. Particularly, they focused on gaining experience regarding the coordinating role of the Monaco government and mobilizing private sector resources in positioning and building a globally-class MICE tourism brand.

In Spain, the delegation worked with tourism and sports management units, exchanging experiences on developing the sports industry ecosystem, organizing international events, the night-time economy, human resource training, and the application of technology in tourism management.  

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyễn Đình Vĩnh affirmed that the experiences from Monaco and Spain are an important foundation for Danang to study and build suitable development models, aiming to become a high-quality tourism center, achieve sustainable development, and enhance the city's position on the international tourism and sports map.

Danang Strengthens Cooperative Relations with Turku City (Finland)

Within the framework of the business trip to Finland, the Da Nang City delegation led by Nguyễn Đức Dũng visited and worked with the Turku government to consolidate the friendly cooperative relations between the two localities established since 2018.

The two sides exchanged orientations for building a cooperation roadmap for the 2026 - 2028 period, focusing on education and training, seaport development, science and technology, and innovation.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Trần Nam Hưng and the representative of Turku City agreed to strengthen connectivity between universities, research institutes, innovation centers, and the business community; at the same time, they will study cooperation and technology transfer in the fields of AI, semiconductors, microchips, IoT, biotechnology, and biomedical technology.

Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyễn Đức Dũng proposed studying the establishment of a periodic delegation exchange mechanism between the Turku City Council and the Da Nang City People's Council, enhancing the sharing of experiences in local governance, smart cities, digital transformation, and improving the operational quality of elected bodies.

Danang learns from the world's leading digital government model in Estonia  

At the working session with the e-Estonia Briefing Centre, a leading global model of digital government, on the afternoon of June 19, the Danang city delegation, led by Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyễn Đức Dũng, highly appreciated Estonia's achievements in the field of digital transformation. The Chairman of the City People's Council proposed that the e-Estonia Centre strengthen cooperation and support Danang by sending experts to share experiences on building a digital government, digital citizens, and a digital society, contributing to the realization of the goal of developing the city into a smart, modern, and sustainable urban area.  

The delegation also sought to learn more about strategies for developing information and telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring information security, cybersecurity, personal data protection, building and connecting national data, while exchanging experiences to enhance digital skills and develop digital citizens.

​​​​​​​At the meeting with His Excellency Nicolai Prytz, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Vietnam, on the afternoon of June 19, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng highly appreciated the Ambassador's contributions in promoting Vietnam-Denmark relations and his support for Danang throughout his tenure.

The city hopes that the Danish Embassy will continue to serve as a bridge to introduce potential businesses and investors to explore cooperation and investment opportunities in Danang, especially in the fields of green infrastructure, environmental protection, logistics, renewable energy, and digital transformation; and at the same time, the city is committed to creating all favorable conditions for Danish enterprises to implement projects that align with the local development orientation.

​​​​​​​At the meeting with Mr. Bodo Ramelow, Vice President of the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany, on the afternoon of June 19, both sides discussed opportunities to promote cooperation in the fields of investment attraction, human resource training, and scientific research.

Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng emphasized that developing high-quality human resources is one of Danang's priorities in the current period. The city hopes that Germany will continue to support the expansion of cooperation programs in vocational education, German language training, and connecting the recruitment needs of German enterprises with Danang's human resources, contributing to meeting development requirements in the new phase.

Vice President of the German Federal Parliament Bodo Ramelow stated that Germany has a significant demand for personnel in the fields of nursing, elderly care, tourism, and services. He affirmed that he will continue to promote connections between German vocational education institutions and schools in Danang to meet the high-quality workforce needs of both sides.

Enhance connectivity, promote economic, financial, and technological cooperation  

At the press conference introducing the Danang Economic, Financial, and Technology Week 2026 (DBFTW 2026) on the afternoon of June 16, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hồ Kỳ Minh invited international organizations, businesses, investors, experts, and scientists to participate in the Week’s activities and to accompany Danang's development.

According to the plan, the Week will take place from July 7 to 12, 2026, creating a forum to connect policymakers, international organizations, businesses, and experts to exchange new trends in economics, finance, technology, and innovation.

The Week comprises five main activities: the Opening Ceremony; the High-Level Policy Dialogue Conference on the theme “New Growth - Innovation - Global City”; the Vietnam Finance Forum 2026; the Workshop on “Enhancing the Connection among the Three Entities: Government - University - Enterprise”; and the Workshop on “Semiconductors and High Technology in Da Nang 2026”.

Through the event, Danang hopes to promote its potential, advantages, and business investment environment; attract high-quality resources, strengthen international cooperation, and gradually affirm its position as a new center of innovation, high technology, and international finance in Vietnam.

Promote projects to prevent erosion and sustainably protect the coastline of Hội An  

At the working session with the delegation from the French Development Agency (AFD) on the afternoon of June 15, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Lê Quang Nam discussed solutions to accelerate the progress of the Hội An Coastal Erosion Prevention and Sustainable Protection Project. The city is committed to continuing to accompany and closely coordinate with AFD and relevant agencies to promptly address difficulties and obstacles, ensuring that the project is implemented on schedule, achieves quality standards, and maximizes investment efficiency.

This is an important project for protecting the coastline, responding to climate change, ensuring the safety of residents, tourists, and coastal infrastructure, and contributing to the sustainable development of the area. With a total investment of 42 million euros for the 2019-2026 phase, the project focuses on constructing a submerged breakwater system, groynes, and beach nourishment along more than 3.3 km of Hội An's coastline. To date, the main contracting packages have resumed after being temporarily halted due to weather conditions. The project owner aims to complete the construction work before the storm season in 2026.

Actor Ji Chang-wook attends the 4th Danang Asia Film Festival

South Korean actor Ji Chang-wook has confirmed his attendance at the 4th Danang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF IV), taking place from June 28 to July 4 in Danang city.

According to the organizers, actor Ji Chang-wook will participate in the main activities of DANAFF IV, including the Opening Ceremony and the red carpet event held on the evening of June 28 at the Danang Ariyana International Conference Center. In addition, he has also confirmed his presence at the Korean Film Night scheduled for the evening of June 29. The event will be attended by Kim Dong-ho along with renowned artists such as Park Sung-woong, Han Dong-hee, and Idol Nation.
