<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">At the first session of the 11th City People's Council, 100% of the attending delegates agreed to elect Mr. Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, as Chairman of the Danang City People's Committee for the 2026–2031 term.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">In his new position, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng affirmed that he would work with the leadership team to promote a spirit of responsibility and democracy, build on the achieved results, and actively encourage innovation and creativity in direction and administration. The focus is on improving the quality of Party building, particularly in personnel organization, inspection, and supervision; simultaneously promoting administrative reform, digital transformation, enhancing discipline and order, and increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the administrative apparatus.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">verification by the relevant agencies and units, and review of the city's reporting channels, as of now, no signs, notices, or behaviors with content discriminating against Indian tourists have been detected in Danang. No tourism business establishments have been recorded displaying signs or notices with content such as "No Smoking - No Indian" or any form of service refusal based on nationality.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">The city's Tourism Quick Response Team hotline and Tourist Support Center have also not received any reports from Indian tourists related to the above issue.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">At the bilateral survey at the Tây Giang (Danang) - Ka Lum (Sekong) border gate area on the morning of May 14, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Phan Thái Bình and Chairman of the Sekong Provincial Government Committee Khanty Silavongsath agreed on the policy and coordination plans to prepare the necessary conditions to upgrade the Tây Giang - Ka Lum border gate to a main border gate before 2030.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Both sides conducted a field survey, determining the scope of the border gate area, suitable locations, and coordinates to serve planning purposes, forming the basis for proposing adjustments to the planning and developing the design for the main border gate.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">This season marks the first time Vietnam will host a full-distance VNG IRONMAN, while also celebrating the 10th season of VNG IRONMAN 70.3 Danang. The event opened on May 10 at East Sea Park.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Athletes will conquer the coastal routes of Danang in a triathlon. For VNG IRONMAN 70.3, the distances include a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride, and a 21.1 km run; for the full-distance IRONMAN, the competitions consist of a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a 42.2 km run.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">The working delegation of the Ministry of National Defense of the Lao People's Army (LPA), led by Senior General Say Chay Kommasith, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Lao People's Army, visited the City Military Command on the afternoon of April 3. </span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">Colonel Trần Hữu Ích, Commander of the City Military Command, emphasized that the armed forces of Danang city have always maintained a strong and effective fraternal relationship with the Military Commands of Sekong and Salavan provinces of Laos. </span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">Senior General Say Chay Kommasith highly appreciated the sentiments, attention, and practical support that the City Military Command has provided to the Lao army and people in recent times.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">The General emphasized that, over the past years, the Party, State, and military of both Vietnam and Laos have regularly exchanged delegations and strengthened comprehensive exchanges and cooperation across various fields, especially in border management and protection, infrastructure development, and training of officers of the Lao People's Army, contributing to the promotion of Laos' socio-economic development and making the cooperative relationship between the two militaries increasingly deep, practical, and effective.</span></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">On April 3-4 in Pakse city, Champasak province (Lao PDR), the People's Committee of Danang city, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse, and the People's Committee of Champasak province jointly organized the EWEC 2026 Investment, Trade, and Tourism Cooperation Forum, aiming to promote connectivity of the East-West Economic Corridor and strengthen Vietnam–Laos cooperative relations. </span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">The forum is an important economic diplomatic event, highlighted by the announcement and signing of more than 20 memorandums of understanding on cooperation between Danang, other localities in Vietnam, and localities and business associations in Laos, outlining the implementation orientation for the 2026–2030 period.</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">The Avalokiteśvara Festival, Ngu Hanh Son, Da Nang City 2026 will take place from April 4 to 07, 2026 (corresponding to the 17th to 20th day of the 2nd lunar month) with many unique cultural, artistic, religious, and community belief activities, promising to bring attractive experiences to Buddhists, citizens, and domestic and international tourists.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">The opening ceremony will take place at 5:30 PM on April 4. The Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva Commemoration Ceremony – the main ritual of the festival – will be held at 7:00 AM on April 6. </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Traditional rituals such as offering incense to commemorate Princess Huyen Tran and the spring sacrifice ceremony to pray for national peace and prosperity continue to be maintained, contributing to the preservation of historical and cultural values.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">In this year's event, the festival portion is organized with many rich activities: The "Light of Compassion" art program at 7:00 PM on April 4; The art program of Avalokiteśvara Pagoda, the Association of Buddhist Artists, and international Buddhist art troupes will take place at 8:00 PM on April 5; The "Avalokiteśvara Melodies" art program by the City Union of Literature and Arts Associations will take place at 7:00 PM on April 6.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Along with that are artistic activities such as Bai Choi exchanges, Central Region (Region 5) folk songs, bamboo dancing, and folk games; exhibition spaces for photography, fine arts, and calligraphy; traditional sports activities such as a boat racing festival reenacting the scene of welcoming Princess Huyen Tran, village chess, stilt walking… <br />
Along with that, the parade of celebratory flower cars on the city's main routes is also a highlight of this year's festival.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">In addition, a walking program for peace with the participation of more than 600 delegates representing agencies, organizations, businesses, diplomatic missions, and the foreign community in Da Nang will also be organized, contributing to spreading the message of peace, friendship, and international cooperation. </p>
