On the evening of February 28, the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang held a ceremony to commemorate the 64th birthday of Emperor Naruhito (February 23, 1960 - February 23, 2024). Attending were Mr. Tran Chi Cuong - Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee, Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori - Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, representatives from foreign diplomatic missions in Da Nang, leaders of People's Committees of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Thua Thien Hue provinces...

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong extended his best wishes for the health of Emperor Naruhito and the Japanese Royal Family, as well as high appreciation for the traditional relationship between the two countries and development in various fields such as economic, trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

Japan has become an important strategic partner of Vietnam, and particularly a key strategic partner of Da Nang. In this context, the friendship and cooperation between Da Nang and regions in Japan are increasingly strengthened. It is noteworthy that these relationships not only promote mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples but also achieve many practical results in various fields.

As a key economic growth area in Central Vietnam, Da Nang actively expands relations with many countries, regions, economies, and foreign enterprises, especially Japanese partners.

"Japan is one of the main import-export markets for Da Nang enterprises. With the opening of direct flights from Japan to Da Nang, many Japanese companies have come to Da Nang for research and cooperation.

The active support of the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang and Japanese companies, organizations, and individuals in the Central region has significantly contributed to strengthening and developing the friendly relations and cooperation between Da Nang and regions in Japan," Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong said.

According to Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori - Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, the Vietnamese community in Japan is growing rapidly and is currently the second largest foreign community in Japan with 520,000 people. The number of Japanese citizens in Vietnam has also increased sharply to 22,000 people.

The Vietnamese community in Japan as well as the Japanese community in Vietnam contribute greatly to the socio-economic development of both countries and play an important role in the sustainable development between Japan and Vietnam.

"Through such diverse exchange activities, we believe that mutual understanding and friendly cooperation between Japan and Central Vietnam are steadily progressing. For Japanese enterprises, Vietnam continues to attract attention as an promising investment destination outside Japan," emphasized Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori - Consul General of Japan in Da Nang.

In addition to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Central Vietnam has recently become an attractive destination for Japanese enterprises. Currently, there are about 300 Japanese enterprises operating in Da Nang city and neighboring provinces.

"In the coming time, as direct flights between Da Nang and Japanese localities increase, the number of Japanese tourists is expected to steadily increase. Especially, Central Vietnam is a great destination for educational tourism trips of Japanese students and young people, so the number of tourists in this group is also expected to increase," shared Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori - Consul General of Japan in Da Nang.
