THACO is an investor and strategic partner of Da Nang
On the afternoon of August 14, the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party held a meeting with Thaco Group Joint Stock Company regarding the direction of development and key projects. Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang affirmed that THACO is a strategic investor, playing a critical role in the industrial development of the city.
THACO is operating in 6 sectors, aiming to contribute over 24 trillion VND to the state budget by 2025, with more than 19.5 trillion VND in Da Nang alone. Since its establishment, the group has contributed over 231 trillion VND, created tens of thousands of jobs, and participated in various social welfare activities.
The city has assigned THACO to lead major projects such as the Chu Lai Urban Area, the Tam Hoa – Tam Tien Urban Area, and the Da Nang – Hoi An – Chu Lai urban railway line stretching over 100 km, with an investment of more than 126 trillion VND. These projects are expected to create a breakthrough in infrastructure, industry, tourism, and services in Central Vietnam.
Appreciating THACO's effective organization of Party activities in the private enterprise, the Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized the importance of building a 'living' ecosystem in Chu Lai with smart urban infrastructure that meets the needs of workers. At the same time, he requested that departments and sectors urgently resolve obstacles and complete the site clearance for key projects before October 2025.
With its deep development strategy, THACO is expected to become a large industrial group, contributing to the realization of not only Da Nang’s, but also the country’s development goals.

Opening of the 25th International Mathematics Competition - VIMC 2025
On the afternoon of August 15, at the Vietnam - Korea University of Information Technology and Communication (Da Nang University), the 25th International Mathematics Competition - VIMC 2025 was inaugurated with the participation of over 500 talented students from 29 countries and territories, along with the host team from Vietnam.
The VIMC exam is one of the most prestigious international mathematics competitions for middle school students, held annually in member countries on a rotating basis. Mathematics is also considered a universal language of humanity, helping to connect intellect and unlock innovative solutions in the age of artificial intelligence.
Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan affirmed that the presence of international delegations reflects Da Nang's position as a reliable destination for academic events, while also providing an opportunity to promote the image of a dynamic and hospitable city.
The exam consists of two stages: Key Stage II (grades 5-6) and Key Stage III (grades 7-8), with two mandatory rounds: individual and team. The international organizing committee selects the exam questions. Awards are given for individuals, teams, and the entire delegation, in addition to a Grand Prize and special awards for outstanding cultural performances.

Opening of the Robot Innovation Competition for High School Students
On August 15, the Union of Scientific and Technical Associations of the city in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Education and Training, the Da Nang Youth Union, and Danang University of Science and Technology organized the Robot Innovation Contest for high school students in Da Nang for the year 2025.
With the theme "Glory of the Autumn in August," the competition attracted 23 teams from high schools within the city and one guest team from the Huế National High School for the Gifted. Each team competes with two robots that perform tasks such as clearing obstacles, breaking down doors, climbing hills, demolishing watchtowers, scaling flagpoles, and planting the flag at the summit within a time limit of 5 minutes.
This is a playground rich in technical and competitive elements, encouraging students to research, design, and create robots, while also developing their thinking, collaboration, and teamwork skills. The closing ceremony and award presentation will take place on the afternoon of August 16.

Many special programs to stimulate tourism in the last months of 2025
On the morning of August 15th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang organized a tourism promotion program for the last months of 2025 with the theme 'New Da Nang – New Experiences', attracting the participation of more than 300 entities including corporations, tourist sites, airlines, hotels, travel agencies, service providers, and technology partners.
This program holds special significance as Da Nang enters a new stage of development after the expansion of its boundaries, aiming for the goal of welcoming 17.3 million visitors for all of 2025, including 7.6 million international visitors, with revenue exceeding 29.9 trillion VND.
Numerous products and outstanding offers such as "Enjoy Danang – Diverse Experiences," a set of three experience passes (Food Tour, Heritage Tour, Green Tour), event and festival itineraries, the "I love Danang" campaign, and specific policies for MICE clients and wedding tourism. In addition, the city implements online payment solutions through VNPAY and online experience passes.
The tourism industry will continue to enhance promotion both domestically and internationally, connect with OTAs, the press, and social media, while also announcing the Da Nang SMILE Tourism Culture Criteria to build a friendly and safe tourism environment.

The groundbreaking of 06 key projects in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the National Day (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025)
From August 19 to September 2, Da Nang will organize the groundbreaking ceremony for six key projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), in a hybrid format combining direct participation with online connections at various venues. The projects include: the expansion of the Chu Lai Truong Hai automobile mechanical industrial zone; the resettlement area serving the North-South high-speed railway project; the Da Nang Downtown cultural, entertainment, and premium service park; the Ba Na - Suoi Mo ecological and urban tourism complex; the apartment building in the Phu My An urban area; and social housing in the Hoa Hiep 4 resettlement area. The city will also launch a multi-level boarding school for ethnic minorities in Tay Giang commune.
The event holds significant political, economic, and social importance, affirming Da Nang's determination to achieve the goal of double-digit growth, while also promoting the image of a dynamic city as an attractive destination for investors, contributing to the restructuring of the economy and improving the living standards of the people.
