Enhancing Comprehensive Cooperation Between Da Nang and Switzerland

On the afternoon of November 3, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, Mr Ho Ky Minh, welcomed and worked with the Ambassador of Switzerland to Vietnam, Thomas Gass, and Mr. Philipp Rösler, Chairman of the Switzerland-Vietnam Economic Forum.

Mr. Ho Ky Minh extended best wishes to the Ambassador and highly appreciated his role in promoting the cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Switzerland, and between Da Nang and Swiss localities and businesses.

The city's leaders provided a brief overview of the socio-economic development situation in the first nine months of the year and the development orientation after the merger with Quang Nam province. The city is focusing on integrating planning, inheriting and promoting the strengths of the two localities, prioritizing the development of tourism, logistics, mechanics (engineering), information technology, and the international financial center.

Da Nang is honored to accompany the Swiss Embassy and the Switzerland-Vietnam Economic Forum in organizing the 2025 Forum, expanding cooperation opportunities between Da Nang and Swiss and European partners. The city's leaders expressed their desire for the Ambassador to continue serving as a bridge to attract investment, promote the business environment, strengthen cultural exchange, and simultaneously requested support in connecting financial experts to serve the establishment of the Da Nang International Financial Center.

Ambassador Thomas Gass expressed his impression of the city's development potential, affirmed that he would encourage Swiss investors to explore cooperation opportunities in Da Nang, and expressed confidence that the Switzerland-Vietnam Economic Forum 2025 would be a great success.

Revolut Group (United Kingdom) collaborates to develop digital finance at IFC Vietnam – Da Nang

On the afternoon of November 6, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Ho Ky Minh, held an online meeting with Revolut Group (United Kingdom) regarding cooperation in developing digital finance within Vietnam's International Financial Center (IFC) in Da Nang.

The CEO Raymond Ng Tien See introduced the digital banking model, RegTech and inclusive finance solutions, while expressing his desire for Revolut to become a key member of IFC Da Nang by contributing to attracting international financial institutions, developing a modern financial ecosystem, and transferring technological knowledge to the local community.

Standing Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh highly appreciated Revolut's potential and international experience, affirming that the city is committed to facilitating the corporation's cooperation initiatives, while coordinating with the State Bank of Vietnam Region 9 to submit proposals and recommendations for operating licenses.

Da Nang and Canada Discuss Future Cooperation

On the afternoon of November 4, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, received and worked with the Ambassador of Canada to Vietnam, James Nickel.

Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi gave a brief overview of Da Nang's potential, advantages, and development orientation after the merger, emphasizing industry as a key sector creating momentum for growth, aiming for the goal of becoming an economic and social hub of the country and the Southeast Asian region by 2030.

Currently, Da Nang does not yet have official cooperation relationships with Canadian localities. Ms. Thi expressed hope that Canada and the Ambassador will serve as a bridge to promote investment cooperation, green and smart urban transition, and urban management, while also encouraging Canadian businesses to explore investment opportunities in Da Nang.

Ambassador James Nickel sent his condolences to the people of Da Nang who suffered losses due to the recent floods and highly appreciated the city government's efforts to support and develop services and tourism. He affirmed that Canada can support the city's strong development in areas like semiconductor technology, chips, AI, gene technology and stem cells, which are important fields for the city's future.

Da Nang – Kansai (Japan) strengthens cooperation in economics, education, and culture

On the morning of November 7, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi received a delegation from the Kansai Region Japan – Vietnam Friendship Association, led by Mr. Teiichi Nishimura, President of the Association, during their visit and working session in Da Nang.

Vice Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi expressed her delight in welcoming the delegation on the occasion of attending the "Meet Kansai" event, and she extended her gratitude to the Association for accompanying and supporting Da Nang in its development process. The Vice Chairwoman affirmed that Japan has always been a key partner of Da Nang, with more than 280 investment projects totaling 1.28 billion USD and extensive cooperation in economic, educational, and cultural fields. The city hopes that the Kansai Association will continue to serve as a bridge to promote cooperation, support human resource training, facilitate cultural exchanges, and help preserve the heritage of The Hoi An – Japanese Covered Bridge.

Mr. Teiichi Nishimura thanked the delegation for the warm reception and affirmed that the Association would continue to promote cooperation between the Kansai region and Da Nang in education, technology, and culture, contributing to the deepening of the Vietnam – Japan friendship.

Mixel Vietnam Company expanding its operational scale in Da Nang

On the morning of November 6, Vice Chairman of the Ho Quang Buu City People's Committee presided over a working session with the delegation from Mixel Vietnam, led by Mr. Andrew Wright, Senior Vice President of the Silvaco Corporation (USA), to discuss the investment situation in the semiconductor microchip sector.

Mr. Andrew Wright stated that in Da Nang, Mixel Vietnam was established in 2024, operating in the fields of AI, mobile devices, cameras, virtual reality, smart

vehicles, among others, and is a member of Silvaco – a leading global corporation in semiconductor design software (EDA, TCAD). After one year of development, the company, together with its team of Vietnamese engineers, has undertaken numerous major projects and collaborated with universities to train high-quality human resources. Mixel plans to expand its headquarters and increase its scale of operations in Da Nang.

Vice Chairman Ho Quang Buu congratulated Mixel Vietnam on its success, affirming that the city will always accompany and create favorable conditions for the enterprise’s development, contributing to the promotion of the high-tech industry – one of the three economic pillars of Da Nang in the new period.

The Taiwan (China) fam trip delegation surveyed tourism products and services in Da Nang

From November 2 to 7, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang, in collaboration with Vietjet Air and Sun Group, welcomed a famtrip delegation from Taiwan (China) to visit and survey the city's tourism products and services.

The delegation consisting of 21 representatives from Taiwanese travel companies, experienced numerous famous destinations such as Sun World Bà Nà Hills, Marble Mountains, and the Da Nang Museum, along with leisure and entertainment activities at Da Nang Mikazuki, Trình Café, Charming Show, and After Glow. The delegation also surveyed high-end hotel and resort systems such as Wyndham Danang Golden Bay, Novotel, Shilla Monogram, and Crowne Plaza, while savoring distinctive local cuisine.

The program is helping to promote the image and reaffirm the appeal of Da Nang to the Taiwanese market, while also expanding opportunities for cooperation and bilateral tourism connections. Currently, Taiwan is Da Nang's second-largest international market, accounting for 7.45% of the total international arrivals, with 29 regular weekly flights from Taipei and Kaohsiung, as well as charter flights operated by Vietjet Air and Bamboo Airways.
