Oregon State (USA) shares experiences in the high-tech industry and semiconductor chip technology

On the afternoon of November 23, Mr. Ho Ky Minh - Deputy Permanent Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang chaired a meeting with the working delegation from the state of Oregon (USA), led by Ms. Katherine Lam, a member of the Poftland Harbor Council, Chairand CEO of Bambuza Hotel Group, who served as the head of the delegation to visit and work in Da Nang.

During the meeting, Mr. Ho Ky Minh gave an overview of the city's socio-economic development. He also mentioned that Da Nang is currently focusing on developing and attracting investment in the semiconductor chip technology and international financial center sectors.

The Deputy Permanent Chairman proposed that Ms. Katherine Lam support the connection for the city to collaborate with US semiconductor equipment manufacturers; promote cooperation with Da Nang in logistics, high technology, and information technology. Additionally, he suggested connecting universities in Da Nang with universities in Oregon to train human resources to serve the city's semiconductor industry.

Ms. Katherine Lam expressed gratitude for the warm welcome from the city's leadership and departments. She also provided an overview of some information about the state of Oregon.

Oregon is the 9th largest state in the United States with over 4 million people, and its GDP in 2022 exceeded $234 billion. Oregon excels in high-tech industries, particularly in the production of computers, semiconductors, electronic equipment, and software.

Building on the positive relationship between the two parties, Ms. Katherine Lam affirmed her readiness to share experiences with Da Nang in the high-tech industry and semiconductor chip technology.

At the same time, she expressed the desire for the city's leadership to create conditions for US businesses in general, and Oregon businesses in particular, to have the opportunity to invest in Da Nang.
