On August 1, Mr. Ho Ky Minh - Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, chaired a meeting with the delegation of Yokohama city’s government (Japan) led by Mr. Sadayuki Kanazawa, General Director of the Department of Waste Management and Recycling.
Mr. Ho Ky Minh expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation of Yokohama city (Japan). He highly appreciated the active coordination of the Yokohama city government in implementing cooperation programs between the two cities.
Over the past years, Yokohama city together with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have supported Da Nang in conducting the Japanese Government’s ODA projects such as " Energy saving diagnosis by simple monitoring method”, “General Credit Mechanism on Solid Waste Management”, “Solid Waste Management to Promote Waste Separation and Recycling - Phase 1 implemented from February 2017 to February 2020”.

Mr. Ho Ky Minh mentioned that on August 2, Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and Environment will host a kick-off workshop for the project "Promoting waste separation at source and recycling of waste (3R) - phase 2”. Mr. Minh suggested that the two cities should close coordinate to successfully implement phase 2 of the project, and continue to call for Japanese organizations to sponsor projects of urban management and environment protection, including the project to promote waste separation at source and waste recycling.
Mr. Sadayuki Kanazawa, General Director of the Department of Waste Management and Recycling, appreciated Da Nang’s cordial welcome. In the past time, the cooperation relationship between the two cities has grown more widely in many fields, reaching many important milestones. Japanese localities and Da Nang city have implemented many cooperation programs, bringing practical results.
Mr. Sadayuki Kanazawa affirmed that Yokohama is ready to cooperate with Da Nang in exchanging experiences, supporting wastewater treatment technology, and sorting waste at source. It is suggested that the two sides should continue to promote exchanges of experiences and cultural cooperation, thereby promoting and deepening the friendship relationship between the two sides.
