On July 27, Chairman of the City People's Committee – Mr. Le Trung Chinh received Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Republic of India, the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal and the Kingdom of Bhutan for the term 2021-2024 on the occasion of his working visit in Da Nang city.

At the reception, Chairman of the City People's Committee – Mr. Le Trung Chinh welcomed Vietnamese Ambassador to India – Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai. Chairman Chinh expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Vietnam in India for their support for Da Nang in promoting cultural exchange activities, connecting Indian business delegations to study investment and business opportunities, helping Da Nang to become a wedding venue for Indian elite families.

In the first half of 2022, Da Nang was one of the Vietnamese localities with a fairly rapid economic recovery, gradually regaining growth momentum. The city's economy in the 6-month review period grew by 7.23% and the budget revenue reached nearly 70% of the year’s estimates. The city identifies that private investment and foreign direct investment are important driving force for socio-economic development. It is necessary for actively attracting selective investment, linking investment attraction with national defense – security, protection of natural resources and the environment, increasing the number of FDI projects in order to accelerate technology transfer and engagement in the global value chains.

Da Nang continues to be in the list of leading cities and provinces in the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), leading the Provincial Digital Transformation Index (2021), and the 3rd in the country for the Public Administration Reform Index (2021). Accordingly, newly registered FDI capital increased by 16.3%, with 49 turns of investors contributing capital and buying shares, and a total value of capital contribution 2.24 times higher than 2021. Da Nang High-tech Park, IT Park and industrial parks attract 3 new FDI projects with investment capital of USD 65.04 million. Accumulated to June 2022, the city has attracted 905 FDI ​​projects with a total registered investment capital of USD 3,852 billion.

Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai highly valued the potentials of Da Nang and expressed that in during his term of office, he will try to make many positive contributions to promote the relationship between India and Da Nang city. India is a country with a large population of more than 1.41 billion people. Vietnam has many cooperation relations in politics, security, defense and especially investment with Indian partners.

Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai said that India's policy is to prioritize strengthening cooperation with Vietnam. In the coming time, the new flight routes from Vietnam to India will contribute to promoting trade, tourism and creating new opportunities for the two countries; particularly for Da Nang to attract wedding tourism, MICE tourism and businesses in the fields of seaport, clean energy, pharmaceuticals development. Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai affirmed that he will support Da Nang to connect with India, promote Da Nang during "Vietnam Week" in India.
