Facilitating Samsung Viet Nam to research and expand cooperation and investment in Da Nang

On the morning of April 1, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the City Nguyen Van Quang had a meeting with CEO of Samsung Vietnam Choi Joo Ho and the delegation during their working visit in Da Nang City. Also, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the City People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Secretary Nguyen Van Quang welcomed CEO Choi Joo Ho and the delegation to Da Nang City and sent his congratulations to Samsung’s successes in the past time.

According to Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, Samsung’s investment is mainly in the North and South regions while activities in the Central Region in general, and Da Nang City in particular, are still modest.

Secretary Nguyen Van Quang said that the information technology and high-tech industries are currently one of the spearheads attracting investment in the city. In addition to the advantages of natural conditions, Da Nang is also one of the cities with the best infrastructure in Viet Nam today with hi-tech and software parks. Secretary Nguyen Van Quang hoped that in its business and development strategy in the coming time, Samsung Group and Samsung Vietnam would increase investment activities in the Central Region and Da Nang City; at the same time, the city would best facilitate Samsung Vietnam to research and expand cooperation and investment in Da Nang in the coming time.

Thanking the city leaders for the warm welcome, CEO Choi Joo Ho expressed his happiness and impression with Da Nang’s development over the years, and shared that Samsung is now is implementing some 5G development activities as well as professionally and systematically reorganizing business activities in Da Nang in particular and the Central Region in general. Therefore, Mr. Choi Joo Ho hoped that the city’s leaders would continue to support and facilitate Samsung to develop.

CEO Choi Joo Ho added that, since 2008, Samsung has officially invested and started construction of the first mobile phone factory in Bac Ninh, creating a premise and opening up Samsung’s investment journey in Viet Nam. Up to now, Samsung has 6 factories and a Research & Development (R&D) Center in Viet Nam. In which, 2 mobile phone factories in Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen provinces are Samsung’s largest globally. Samsung’s home electronics factory in Ho Chi Minh City is considered the largest in Southeast Asia.

In Da Nang, Samsung Vietnam is testing a commercial 5G network; a member company of Samsung Vietnam has initially invested in the hotel industry, creating a foundation for Samsung Vietnam and its member companies to research and expand cooperation and investment in the city in the future.
