On the afternoon of 3 December 3rd Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, received the delegation lead by Mr. Marcus Winsley, Deputy Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, to visit and work in Da Nang.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh provided an overview of the socio-economic development of the City in 2020 under the impacts of COVID-19 as well as the City’s development orientations.
Mr. Minh said that in the context of the relationship between Viet Nam and the UK increasingly developing and deepening, Da Nang considers the UK as one of its most important trading partners. Currently, the UK has 23 investment projects in the City worth 94.18 million USD.

The Vice Chairman wished that in his role, Mr. Winsley would continue to promote investment and trade activities between the two sides with specific cooperation programs in the fields of economics, education, and tourism.
Mr. Winsley thanked the City leader for the warm reception and said that the UK is very interested in localities with dynamic development such as Da Nang. He also affirmed that he would help UK investors better understand investment markets in Da Nang and develop long-term investment strategies here.

Mr. Winsley believed that with the potential of the City, UK businesses would find many investment opportunities especially in support of Da Nang developing a smart city, digital economy, education and training, and tourism thereby promoting the current relationship and the potential for future development between the two countries.
