Expanding Exchanges and Cooperation between Da Nang and South Korea through Teaching and Learning Korean

This is one of the main exchanges between Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh and Mr. Yoo Dae Jong, Deputy Minister in charge of policy coordination, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, in the afternoon of December 19th, during the visit to Da Nang.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Yoo Dae Jong highly appreciated the achievements of Da Nang City in the past time; at the same time, he affirmed that Da Nang would continue to develop strongly in the near future, especially in the fields of tourism, services, high technology, etc. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea said that, through survey, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea recognized that in recent years, a lot of South Korean tourists and students had been coming to Da Nang. Along with that, cooperation activities and cultural exchanges between the two countries in general and between Da Nang and South Korean localities in particular, have been increasingly tightened. Therefore, the establishment of more Korean language training centers in the future will help to further improve the quality of teaching and learning Korean in Viet Nam, creating a premise for economic development between the two countries.

Emphasizing that the establishment of the South Korean Consulate General in Da Nang was a very important decision of the South Korean Government, Mr. Yoo Dae Jong expressed his desire to leaders of the city for care, support, and facilitation of the new Consulate General in the implementation of the mission, contributing to further strengthening the good friendship between Viet Nam - Korea in general, Da Nang and South Korean localities and partners in particular..

Agreeing with the statement of Deputy Minister Yoo Dae Jong, Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh said that the establishment of the South Korean Consulate General in Da Nang had an important meaning for the development and improvement of the relationship between Viet Nam, Da Nang, and Korea. Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh affirmed that the city government would coordinate closely and create favorable conditions for the Consulate General to operate stably soon, in order to best support Korean citizens to visit, live, study, and work in Da Nang.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee also expressed his wish that more Korean language centers would be established in Da Nang in the coming time, thereby contributing to further popularizing Korean language teaching and learning, thereby expanding economic cooperation opportunities as well as cultural exchanges between the two sides.
