On 11th January, General Secretary of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party, President of Japan – Viet Nam Parliamentary Friendship Union Nikai Toshihiro together with the delegation of Japanese economic, cultural and tourism exchanges began a visit to Viet Nam.
In the afternoon on the 11th January, member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party’s Central Government, Chief of the Central Government Organization Committee, President of Japan – Viet Nam Parliamentary Friendship Group Pham Minh Chinh welcomed and met with Mr. Nikai Toshihiro and the delegation.
At the working session, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh was so glad to welcome General Secretary, President Nikai Toshihiro together with Japanese colleagues in the first days of 2020. Mr. Pham Minh Chinh stated that, the delegation’s visit was not only a significant activity marking the two nation’s relationship but also a cooperation activity which had been coordinated by the two groups of Parliamentary Friendship.

Of which, Viet Nam always considers Japan a great, permanent, reliable and important partner.
On the aspect of joint-parliaments, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh showed his support for the relationship of “Viet Nam – Japan intensive strategic partner” which is on strong, comprehensive and factual development. Also, he highly appreciated the good cooperation relations between the two legislatures during the past time and the cooperation relationship between the Viet Nam – Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group and the Viet Nam – Japan Parliamentary Friendship Union. These relationships confirm that the National Assembly of Viet Nam is always willing to strictly cooperate with the Japanese Parliament to support and speed up the development of the relationship of “Strategic cooperation partner with Japan”.
Mr. Pham Minh Chinh wishes that the two nation’s parliament diplomatic channel would contribute to strengthening political reliability, people exchange, expansion and enhancement of cooperation effectiveness in various fields, mutual sharing and support in regional and international issues that the parties pay much concern to, including the issues related to the East Sea.

On this occasion, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh gave trustful thanks to the emotion, support and assistance of HE Nikai Toshihiro together with the PMs in the Viet Nam – Japan Parliamentary Friendship Union and the Japanese Parliament for Viet Nam during the past years. Also, he discussed his impression of the initiatives of the President and the two nation’s Parliamentary Friendship Union/Group regarding the promotion and organization of the two nation’s Cultural Festivals, Lotus – Cherry Blossom Festivals, etc. and cooperation projects, including the Project on "Training managing officials at levels, especially strategic leaders; administrative innovation and apparatus streamlining" one of the three strategic breakthroughs of Viet Nam, making contributions in enhancing professional capacity and knowledge for Vietnamese government officials.
Mr. Nikai Toshihiro showed his pleasure in visiting Viet Nam and participating in economic, cultural and tourism exchange festivals. Mr. Nikai Toshihiro said that, the two nations’ relationship has really developed and come into depth, bringing actual benefits for the two nations’ peoples. He agreed that the two nations would continue the strengthening and development of the cooperation relationship between Viet Nam and Japan in general and the National Assembly of Japan and Viet Nam in particular.

The two sides agreed to speed up exchange programs between the two nations’ National Assembly; organize exchange programs between young leaders of the two nations and specific seminars to share experience in constructing the laws and supervising cooperation agreements signed by the two nations; speed up exchange programs between the two nations’ peoples through organizing the delegations of leaders of the two nations’ localities to visit and work and promote investment, spread images, tourism potential and cultural festivals in each country; the two nations’ National Assembly would strengthen cooperation and strictly coordinate at international and regional forums as well as support their own points of view in relation to international and regional issues in their mutual concern.
Later in the same day, Mr. Nikai Toshihiro together with the delegation visited Hoi An Ancient Town (Quang Nam Province).
