Dozens of Sites Providing Free Masks to Help People Prevent Spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

By the afternoon on 1st February, there were nearly 30 sites providing free masks across the city, joining hands with the authorities and communities to prevent and control the new strain of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

With the complicated situation of acute respiratory infections caused by new COVID-19, the authorities are highly focused on the prevention and control of epidemics. The health sector recommends that people should wear masks, so the demand for masks and medical supplies is higher than normal.

While on the market, there were some individuals and units making profits by increasing the price of masks, in Da Nang, some drugstores and business facilities announced they were distributing free masks.

By the afternoon on 1st February, there were nearly 30 sites distributing free masks, joining hands with the authorities and communities in the prevention of  COVID-19. The free masks distributed are mainly disposable masks.

Although the number of free masks at each site was not much, these actions have received the support of many people, creating a spreading effect to many other business facilities in the city.

In addition to giving away free masks, at some sites, the people were also guided on how to use medical masks properly.

The acute respiratory infection caused by a new strain of the Coronavirus is a group A infectious disease, which has a risk of a global emergency and has been transmitted human-to-human through the respiratory tract. Therefore, it is necessary to have the cooperation of the community in the prevention and control of the epidemic.
