This is the direction of Mr. Huynh Duc Tho – Chairman of the City People’s Committee after a meeting on the prevention and fighting for acute pneumonia due to nCoV.
In the afternoon on 24th January, the City People’s Committee issued an urgent document notifying the Conclusion by Mr. Huynh Duc Tho – Chairman of the City People’s Committee at a meeting on the prevention and fighting for acute pneumonia due to nCoV.
Thereby, as of 12.00 am on 24th January 2020, Da Nang has not recognized any cases involving coronavirus infection.
Mr. Huynh Duc Tho – Chairman of the City People’s Committee nominated the Department of Health to preside over and cooperate with related units to immediately propose to the City People’s Committee to implement Urgent Official Government Document No. 121/CĐ-TTg of the Prime Minister dated 23rd January 2020 regarding the prevention and fighting of acute pneumonia due to nCoV. Also, the Centre of Disease Control is required to strictly control the entrance of passengers at border-gates (airport, seaport) at all hours, if there are any suspected cases of infection from epidemic zones, they must be timely isolated and managed; strengthen public supervision, and effectively implement the procedures of treatment and isolation.
In a case where the epidemic occurs, require the Da Nang Hospital and Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children to strictly carry out zone division, isolation and treatment for patients; control bacterial infection at hospitals, minimize and limit side effects and death caused by the epidemic and do not let the epidemic spread within medical clinics. In addition, be ready with forces, medicines, means and medical equipment; guarantee the modes effectively and suitably satisfying the epidemic situation.
The Chairman of the City People’s Committee required the Port Authority of Da Nang, the Border-gate Public Security, the Customs Office of Da Nang, the Department of Health and related units to strengthen the supervision of the epidemic at border-gates according to the procedures for treatment of Group A infectious disease.
The Chairman of the City People’s Committee nominated the Departments of: Foreign Affairs, Tourism, Transport and Finance based on their functions and duties to effectively implement the prevention and fighting for acute pneumonia due to nCoV.
In addition, he nominated the People’s Committees of districts to direct wards and communes; boards and unions in the region to firmly carry out the communication affairs on the prevention and fighting for acute pneumonia due to nCoV.
Also nominated were Mr. Le Trung Chinh – Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee to preside over and direct related affairs regarding the prevention and fighting for the epidemic in the City; and Ms. Ngo Thi Kim Yen – Director of the Department of Health to directly guide the prevention and fighting for the epidemic within medical sector and report to the Chairman of the City People’s Committee of any problem and difficulties out of her competence.
