Preparing all the most favorable conditions for the success of the working visit of Mr. Nikai Toshihiro, Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan to Viet Nam was the main topic of discussion between Mr. Truong Quang Nghia, Central Party Committee Member, Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee and Mr. Umeda Kunio, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Viet Nam in the afternoon on 15th October, on the occasion of the working visit of Ambassador Umeda Kunio in Da Nang City.
At the meeting, the Ambassador said that the purpose of his working visit to Da Nang is to prepare for the working visit of the Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan to Viet Nam in January 2020; the delegation is expected to have about 1,000 representatives of Japanese enterprises, associations and investors. Within the framework of Mr. Nikai’s visit, it is expected that many exchange and investment promotion activities will be held in Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province, namely: the Japan – Viet Nam Tourism Exchange Forum; Workshop on Viet Nam – Japan Economic Cooperation; Workshop on promoting Vietnamese labourers to Japan, Conference on connecting Vietnamese and Japanese Travel Businesses; Lotus Growing Festival; Vietnamese – Japanese Youth Exchange; Viet Nam – Japan Exchange.
Ambassador Umeda Kunio expressed his wish to receive the coordination and support from the City’s authorities to make the event successful. In addition, he also informed that the Japan Student Services Organization is expected to organize a Workshop on Studying in Japan at the University of Da Nang on 16th November in order to provide useful information for all students in the city who wish to study in Japan.
On behalf of the City’s leader, Secretary Truong Quang Nghia expressed his sincere concern to Ambassador Umeda Kunio in particular and Japanese people in general for the damages caused by Typhoon Hagibis in Japan during the recent days.
According to the Secretary of the City Party Committee, along with the development of the friendship and extensive strategic partnership that the two countries have established and achieved over the last four decades, Da Nang has continuously promoted comprehensive cooperation with partners in Japan. From the establishment of friendship and trusted partnership at the local government level to the promotion of economic cooperation and cultural exchange, the cooperation between Da Nang and Japanese partners has achieved good results, making practical contributions to the socio-economic development of the city.
Secretary Truong Quang Nghia affirmed that the city would actively coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japanese Embassy in Viet Nam, and relevant units and localities in order to prepare the most favorable conditions for the working visit of the Secretary-General of the Japanese Liberal Democratic Party to Viet Nam, contributing to strengthening and deepening the friendship and good cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan in general, and particularly between Da Nang and Japanese localities and partners.
