InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort - the venue for World Travel Awards Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony 2016

It will be the first time World Travel Awards has visited Viet Nam with the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort welcoming the ceremony for the first time.

The event will be attended by about 250 invited guests who are leaders of the travel and tourism industry from across the regions as well as international print and broadcast media.

The city’s InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort and Vinpearl Danang Resort & Villas are nominees of the 23rd World Travel Awards for Asia's Leading Luxury Resort and Asia's Leading Resort 2016. 

Owned by the Sun Group, the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort was honoured as the ‘World’s Leading Luxury Resort' at the World Travel Awards ceremonies for 2 consecutive years in 2014 and 2015. 

The WTAs were launched in 1993 to acknowledge excellence in the travel and tourism industry.  Heralded as the ‘travel industry's equivalent to the Oscars by The Wall Street Journal, the awards are given based on the votes of the public and travel professionals worldwide.  Each year the WTAs cover the globe with a series of regional gala ceremonies staged to recognise and celebrate individual and collective successes within each key geographical region.
