The Deo Ca Investment Joint-Stock Company recently announced that the Ministry of Tranport has approved its suggestion for closing the Hai Van Tunnel connecting Da Nang City and Thua Thien Hue Province for 30 munites every day starting from 11 July.

This tunnel will be closed from 1.15pm to 1.45pm every day while construction units use dynamite to create another tunnel that runs parallel to it, called the Hai Van Tunnel No. 2.
The closing will be effective within one month from the starting date of construction and applicable on all days except for weekends and holidays. Vehicles passing through the Hai Van Tunnel No. 1 around closing time will be stopped at two toll stations at the north and south ends.
After one month, the project’s management board and investors will collaborate with relevant units to evaluate the traffic congestion at the Hai Van Tunnel No. 1 due to this closure and report it to the Ministry of Transport for further adjustment so that it will not affect the traffic lows through Hai Van Tunnel No. 1.
The Ministry of Transport also asks the Directorate for Roads of Viet Nam to request relevant road management departments to collaborate with the project’s management board and investor to direct traffic and announce whether the tunnel is open for travelers.
