On July 5, chairman of the Danang PC Hoang Tuan Anh holds talks with Mr. Kubota Takeshi, chief of the Vietnamese Economic Research Institute in Japan.
Addressing the talk, Mr. Kubota highly appreciated efforts of the city authorities in calling for Japanese enterprises to invest in Danang. Especially, since the establishment of the Danang representative office in Tokyo, investment promotion activities of Japan in Danang are remarkable. Only in the first six months of 2005, by presentation of the Vietnamese Economics Research Institute and the representative office, about 30 Japanese businessmen groups came to Danang to seek investment and trade environment. This shows the real concern of Japanese enterprises to investment environment of Danang.
Mr. Kubota said that, with preferential investment policies and active operation of the representative office, the target to attract about 20 Japanese enterprises to invest in Danang in 2005 is a fact which is easy to implement.
On this occasion, Mr. Kubota made consultancy to leader of the Danang People's Committee some policies relating policies and guidelines for investment attraction to facilitate some Japanese businessmen to invest in Danang. Of this, the current important matters is the comprehension of technical infrastructure system at the industrial zones, promoting joint venture activities to build standards factories for Japanese enterprises, assisting the enterprises to quick deal with registration procedures after granting investing licenses.
Chairman Anh said that, according to requirements of Research Institute, the city authorities is selecting Danang-based suitable enterprises to make joint venture with some Japanese enterprises for the implementation of specific projects, including the construction of standard factories for hire, construction of shopping and accommodation areas for Japanese people in Danang, building project to improve the sewage disposal system at the industrial zones to call for investment from Japanese government. In addition, the city authorities will continue to take priority for the operation of the representative office as a place to publicise the Danang's images to Japanese enterprises.
