150 young overseas Vietnamese from 30 countries and territories, who are participating in Vietnam Summer Camp 2010, visited Da Nang on 19 July. This is an annual activity held by the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (COVA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Vietnam Summer Camp 2010, named “Flying Dragon Country,” will last from 15 July to 4 August in 10 cities and provinces of the three regions of the country, including Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Ha Noi, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Thua Thien - Hue, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh and Tay Ninh. In Da Nang, the participants had a community exchange program with the city’s youth, took part in many sea sports and visited Hoi An Ancient Town.
The event is an excellent opportunity for young Vietnamese people who live, work or study overseas, to meet with one another, improve their mother tongue and understand more about their homeland’s history, culture, traditions and the Party and State’s policies.
